So another episode of "24" and was I right in thinking the show would improve now without all the nuclear holocaust plot?

Ehhhhh.....kinda?

Jack's storyline is typical Jack - he defies authority, kicks the crap out of people and tells someone "We're running out of time!" But, still, it's the most interesting.

Then there's the CTU storyline - a typical CTU storyline - Chloe does something illegal for Jack, gets caught and now everyone's in on the plan and Jack must defy authority because, even though he's always correct when authority tells him he's wrong, they can't let the show ends 6 episodes early.

The president subplot....yeaaa. I will say President Palmer actually became likeable, but that may be just because there's no one else that really is of any value. So he wins by default.

Anyone that believed the President wasn't going to collapse on television and the VP wasn't going to slyly put his resignation in his suit jacket probably believed Jack was going to die last week and this season is the best one so far.

So otherwise, and other friends seem to be in agreement, this was clockwork "24." Nothing we haven't seen before - but that seems to be the theme to this season.

All we can hope is Jack will go rogue and just kill all of CTU and the Chinese.
